    Playing in Tournaments

    How to Join a Tournament

There are three ways to join:

    • 1.Invitation Link: The organizer sends you a direct link - just click to join
    • 2.Browse Events: Find public tournaments in the Browse section
    • 3.Email Invitation: Some organizers send email invites

    Understanding Your Status

    Confirmed

You're in! You'll play when the tournament starts

    Invited

The organizer added you by email - create an account to confirm

    Pending Confirmation

You have an account but haven't confirmed your spot yet

    Waitlisted

The tournament is full - you'll join if someone drops out

    Live Scoring

Depending on the organizer's settings, you may be able to update scores:

    1. Tap on your match card
    2. Use the + buttons to add points as they're won
    3. Score updates in real-time for everyone
    4. Match completes automatically when target is reached
Some organizers restrict scoring to organizers only. If you can't update a score, the organizer will handle it.

    Reading the Standings

The standings show your position in the tournament:

    • Total Points: Sum of all points you've earned
    • Matches Played: How many matches you've completed
    • Wins: How many matches your team won
    • Point Difference: Points scored minus points conceded
In Group + Knockout tournaments, a green checkmark ✓ next to your name means you're currently in a qualifying position for the knockout stage!

    Understanding Your Ranking

    What is a Rating?

Your rating is a number that represents your skill level. Think of it like this:

Imagine a ladder where everyone starts on the same step. When you beat someone, you climb up. When you lose, you step down. But the amount you move depends on who you beat or lost to.

    • Beat a higher-rated player → climb many steps
    • Beat a lower-rated player → climb a few steps
    • Lose to a higher-rated player → barely move down
    • Lose to a lower-rated player → move down more

    Rating Confidence (Stars)

Stars show how confident the system is in your rating:

    3 Stars - Established

    10+ matches, very accurate rating

    2 Stars - Developing

5-9 matches, rating is becoming accurate

    1 Star - Provisional

0-4 matches, rating may change significantly

Why is Someone Ranked Above Me?

Beating someone once doesn't automatically put you above them. The system considers:

    • All matches: Your entire history, not just one game
    • Opponent strength: Who you've beaten overall
    • Score margins: Winning 20-12 shows more dominance than 17-15
    • Consistency: Regular strong performances matter

    Tips to Improve Your Ranking

    • Play regularly - more matches = more accurate rating
    • Compete in Official Series tournaments for rated matches
    • Challenge stronger players - bigger rating gains
    • Focus on point margins, not just winning
